It took a mountain and a meteor.
Our name “Dusty Star” is taken from Dusty Star Mountain in Glacier Park. And, the mountain derived its name from the Blackfoot word for a “smoking star” or meteor. So, naming a Montana saloon & smokehouse after an impressive mountain and a blazing meteor seemed to be setting the bar just about high enough for our standards—we hope you’ll agree.

What makes our BBQ special? Well, we start with a state-of-the-art smoker that’s custom-built by one of the country’s premier manufacturers—it’s serious hardware for some serious work (and yeah, we take this kinda seriously.) Then, we fuel that bad boy with our unique selection of woods and charcoal and maintain that heat “low & slow” for hours on end. What we put inside it is just as unique, top-quality beef, pork, chicken, and sausages, all specially prepared and “dusted” with our own mix of herbs and spices. The result is a breed of BBQ that is deliciously tender, wonderfully smokey, and has a style and flavor all its own.
Round out that offering with our house-smoked wings, a variety of great sandos, some damn good sides, and a peach cobbler for dessert, and you’ll just be starting to get a taste of what we’re all about—here at “The Star.”
